DESCRIPTION: FIRST EDITION. 1 vol., (ii)430pp.(i), folio, 11-1/4" x 7-5/8", the issue with the side note on page 41, complete with the engraved frontis of Charles I and the final colophon leaf. Bound in fine contemporary full brown calf over cords, covers ruled in gilt, gilt corner pieces, gilt royal crest to both covers, edges of textblock tinted red.

CONDITION: Spine rebacked with the original spine laid down, ties replaced, minor damp stain to top edge of textblock otherwise largely clean and bright throughout, overall still a VERY GOOD copy.
