DESCRIPTION: FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. 1 vol., title-page printed in red and blue, handcolored frontispiece and 3 additional handcolored plates afterJohn Leech, iIn this issue, the frontispiece, like that of the Tauchnitz edition, is the plate of Marley's Ghost and Scrooge, in the gift-binding issue, the frontispiece plate is "Mr. Fezziwig's Ball," as in the first London edition. Bound in the original ribbed grained dark blue cloth, covers blind tooled, spine gilt in similar style as the first London edition, plain pastedowns and endpapers.

CONDITION: Head and foot of spine rubbed with some loss, inner and outer hinges fine, spine slightly sunned, completely unsophisticated with no repairs of any kind, a GOOD+ copy.
