DESCRIPTION: FIRST EDITION SECOND ISSUE. 1 vol., "Stave One" as the first chapter heading, title-page printed in red and blue, frontispiece & 3 plates by John Leech hand colored.  Bound in the original mauve cloth, 1st issue binding with the "D" in Dickens unbroken, yellow pastedowns and endpapers, all edges gilt, housed in a felt lined red cloth clamshell slipcase.

CONDITION: Spine neatly relined at an earlier date, back corners slightly rubbed, generally clean and bright throughout, still a VERY GOOD copy.
