DESCRIPTION: A NEARLY PERFECT FIRST EDITION IN THE ORIGINAL PARTS LACKING ONLY ONE AD. 20 parts in 19, illustrated with 40 plates by H K. Browne, plates cleaner than normal without the usual extreme foxing and toning. THE COLLATION - complete with all the "Dombey Advertiser's" present in each part, PART 10 lacking 1 rear ad, PART 5 has the 12 line errata slip, PART 11 earliest issue with "Capatin" on the last line of p.324, PART 14 page number 427 present but "if" omitted on p.426 line 9, PART 19/20 with 8 line errata.
CONDITION: Housed in a 1/2 red morocco slipcase, raised bands gilt lettered spines. Overall a better than average set, some expert repairs at an earlier date to the spines, overall VERY GOOD.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Dickens in parts are becoming increasingly difficult to find in their earliest issue for a reasonable price in good condition.
