ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: On 12 June 1897, Dodgson writes to Mrs. Seys, concerning Eda, the god-daughter of an old friend, "I am vain enough to assume that you know the names of my books, and that I need not enumerate them in order to ask . . . which (if any) of them Eda possesses and which (if any) of the unpossessed ones she would like me to send her . . ."
