Bound in fine full red morocco, ribbed gilt decorated spine, covers double ruled in gilt, gilt cover center pieces, gilt dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled pastedowns and endpapers, by Zaehnsdorf. Tipped to the recto of the final advert leaf is the small four page 1871 "Christmas Greeting" pamphlet by Carroll.

CONDITION: Internally clean and bright, inner and outer hinges fine, head and foot of spine fine, a VERY GOOD copy.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: In Christmas of 1871, Carroll created and published a special 4 page letter To all Child-Readers of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," a heartfelt leaflet of holiday wishes. Coinciding with the publication of Through the Looking-Glass.
