Pater's kind regards", additionally inscribed on the front blank endleaf "Given by Walter Pater to the Rev. G. Perkins. St. John Incas 1900", bound in fine full brown morocco, ribbed gilt decorated spine, covers ruled and paneled in gilt, four gilt decorated floral orange morocco corner pieces on each cover and two to each dentelles, top edge gilt, others uncut, by Johanna Birkenruth.
CONDITION: Head and foot of spine fine, inner and outer hinges fine, spine ever so slightly sunned, overall VERY GOOD.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Second edition appeared within six weeks of the First Edition.
