DESCRIPTION: FIRST EDITION. 13 vol., 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", engraved frontis portrait plate in volume 1. Bound in fine full contemporary speckled calf over cords, gilt decorated spines, gilt lettered red and green morocco spine labels, sprinkled edges.

CONDITION: Minor rubbing to spine with loss of some gilt, head and foot of spines generally fine with minor loss to a couple of heads, all hinges fine, old dampstain to top edge of textblock of volume 3 not affecting text, overall an outstanding set in an unrestored contemporary binding.
