DESCRIPTION: 1 vol., 1 of 250 copies. original dark olive green cloth with gilt stamped triple rule frame and title, blind stamped leaf and vine designs, gilt stamped spine, original printed tan dustjacket, with the card slipcase.

CONDITION: The book is NEAR FINE to FINE, the DJ has a small closed tear to the lower front left corner but is otherwise complete with no chipping, VG+, the slipcase is worn and broken but is 90% complete and could be repaired.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIN: Inscribed on the front blank endleaf "This was Will Innes' copy which he gave me on Sunday Dec. 17th 1967 Gertrude Traubel".  Gertrude was the daughter of Horace Traubel, a close friend and confidant of Whitman during his final years.  William Innes was a friend of the Traubel family and gave a significant portion of his library to Gertrude in 1967.
