DESCRIPTION: 1 vol., 6-5/8" x 4-1/8", 90 leaves (printed on one side only) entirely engraved throughout, 44 engraved 'cupid' plates each with a facing quatrain of engraved verse in Latin, English, Italian, & French, bound in fine full mottled calf, floral gilt decorated spine, gilt lettered maroon spine labels, covers triple ruled in gilt, gilt dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled pastedowns and endpapers.
CONDITION: Hinges fine, head and foot of spine fine, occasional mild toning to pages, no previous ownership markings or bookplate, A VERY GOOD copy.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: First published as "Cupids Addresse to the Ladies Emblemata Amatoria" in 1683, this is a reissue of the plates of the 1714 edition, with an engraved title page signed 'S Nicholls sculp:' replacing the letterpress one, and introductory sonnet 'Cupid to Chloe Weeping'.
