Bound in the publisher's blind stamped brown cloth, front hinge expertly repaired, head and foot of spine lightly rubbed, with Dickens' personal armorial bookplate (a lion couchant) and the 1870 plate from the posthumous dispersal of his Gadshill library, VERY GOOD, housed in a silk chemise and an elaborate solinder pull-off case of red morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, with Dickens' lion armorial tooled on the upper sleeve, VERY GOOD.
