CONDITION: Some mild toning to early leaves mostly marginal, mild foxing, rebacked at some earlier date, back corners worn, hinges fine, head and foot of spine fine, a GOOD+ copy.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Described by Lowndes as the "best edition", this work gives the biographies of many worthies as examples of the rules of conduct for different professions "...perhaps the most popular of all his writings" (Ency. Brit). "Fuller was incomparably the most sensible, the least prejudiced, great man of an age that boasted a galaxy of great men" (S. T. Coleridge).
