DESCRIPTION: SIGNED WITH A 4 LINE QUOTE. 1 vol., later printing - fiftieth thousand, illustrated, signed by Kipling on the titlepage with an additional 4 line quote from the poem to Kaa's hunting which reads "Oppress not the cubs of the stranger but hail them as/ Sister and Brother/ For though they are little & fubsy it may be the Bear/ is their Mother." Bound in the publisher's original gilt and blind stamped green cloth, top edge gilt.
CONDITION: Spine expertly relined, inner and outer hinges fine, head and foot of spine fine.
